Daily Arrangements

Dear Parent/carer,

Firstly, I would like to say how wonderful it has been to welcome the children back to school. They have all settled well and all the staff have commented on how smart and eager they have been. It is fantastic to be back!

I would also like to thank you for your cooperation in following the guidelines such as our one way system. It is very much appreciated.

On Monday, however the school will be back at 100% capacity and I would ask that you be particularly mindful of the following:

The school doors will be open from 8.45 for P1-3 only

We are aiming for the children to not line up in the morning but rather walk straight into the school and proceed to their classroom (via the hand sanitiser of course!) Only P1-3 children should be arriving at the school at this time. Unless they have a sibling at the school (9 O’Clock drop off) P4-7 children and their parents should not be on school grounds until shortly after 9 at the very earliest.

Please try to drop your child off as near as possible to their allocated time.

This is to reduce congestion and to ensure that it is easier for adults outside the school to socially distance. You will have noticed that due to the introduction of our new nursery playground, we do not have the capacity to cater for large groups of parents congregating for an extended period of time. If every child is dropped as near as possible to their allotted time they will be able to walk into the school leaving their parent free to exit through the one way system and limiting the amount of time they are on school grounds. This will then free up space for other parents dropping their child at the next allotted time. Whilst I fully appreciate the significance of returning to school after 5/6 months, this week we have had a large number of children and parents arriving at the school 15 to 20 minutes before their allocated time. I would ask that you avoid this for the reasons above.

  • A reminder of drop off times are below:
TimeRoom Numbers
8.50amR1, R2, R 3, R4 & R5
9.00amAll siblings – P1 – 7
9.10amR6, R7, R8, R9, R10, R11

Please arrive at the school to collect your child as near as possible to their allocated time.

This is particularly important for our families with siblings and P4-7 as it will allow P1-3 parents to leave the school grounds and ensuring it is easier for everyone to socially distance.

Only one adult should be collecting children

I would also ask that that only 1 person drop off and collect each child/family as this will reduce congestion and ensure it is easier for everyone to socially distance.

Park and Stride

We have an existing arrangement with the Rutherglen Health Centre that parents and carers can use their car park and then “stride” to and from school. Older children in particular could use this facility. I would like to thank those who have already done so. This would further reduce the number of adults within the school grounds.

I hope you can understand the necessity for the above procedures and ask for your continued cooperation.

Milk Payments

Due to COVID-19, SLC are trying to reduce the amount of cash handling within schools. They have therefore introduced milk bookings for parents who wish their child to receive a school milk.

Milk is now available to pre book and pay for through your parent pay account. You will find this option in ‘Pay for other items.’

Please do not hesitate in contacting the school if you require any further information.

Yours sincerely

Andy Gray

Head Teacher
